Prince William's wife took part in the official welcome ceremonies of the Emir of Qatar. Meanwhile, Queen Kamila was missing during the event.

Duchess Kate is recovering

As CNN notes, Tuesday's event is another confirmation that Duchess Kate is fully returning to public life after her illness. The 42-year-old underwent chemotherapy at the beginning of the year. After it ended, she made her first public appearance in October when she went with William to Southport in the northwest England. She then met with the mourning families of three children killed in a knife attack in July. She missed Tuesday's celebrations Queen Kamilawhich she was suffering from a respiratory infection after an official visit to the king's side Australia and Samoa in late October.

On Wednesday, the Emir will visit the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (a prestigious military academy) in Berkshire, where he studied. He will meet several people he went to school with, as well as current Qatari cadets at the academy.
