A tragic accident in Janów near Sochaczew. On provincial road number 705, a passenger car hit a tree and caught fire. Inside the wreck, firefighters found two charred bodies.

As reported on social media by the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Sochaczew, the incident took place on Sunday night. Around 11 p.m., a report of a road accident on the seventh kilometer of the voivodship road No. 705 in Janów (Brochów commune) was received by the Commander of the Poviat PSP Commander in Sochaczew.

The car started to burn

“The information obtained showed that the car involved in the incident started to burn, and the injured people remained inside. Two hosts from the Sochaczew Rescue and Fire Fighting Unit of the State Fire Service and hosts from the TSO KSRG Brochów and the TSO KSRG Wólka Smolana were dispatched to the site” – the fire department reported in message. When firefighters arrived at the scene, it turned out that a Volkswagen Passat passenger car had hit a tree head-on and was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters also described that their actions consisted of extinguishing the fire and securing and lighting the scene. Two charred bodies were found inside the wreckage.

The District Commander of the State Fire Service in Sochaczew arrived at the site. It was concluded that the activities were carried out by seven firefighters of the State Fire Service and nine firefighters of the Voluntary Fire Brigade. It ended a few minutes after 2 o’clock.

Senior Sergeant Damian Szwed from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Sochaczew announced on Monday that the police officers together with the prosecutor’s office are investigating the circumstances of the accident. “At the moment it happened for undetermined reasons,” he said.
