The 61-year-old from the Świętokrzyskie Province drove into the forest in a car and let the dog out of the trunk and got back behind the wheel. However, he did not manage to leave, because the policemen patrolled the area. The man is threatened with up to three years in prison. The officers were not convinced by his “explanations”.
The police noticed a man in a forest complex in Działoszyce (Świętokrzyskie Province). The Opel was parked on the road and the 61-year-old was standing next to the car. – At one point, the man opened the tailgate and let the dog out. Then he got into the car and tried to drive away, leaving the animal to its fate – handed over to the asp. Damian Stefaniec, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Pińczów.
Police officers stopped the car for inspection. The man initially denied that the dog released was his property. However, he had to change his version when, after leaving the car, the dog immediately ran up to him – added the officer.
Dog in the shelter, owner on charges
In the trunk, the policemen also found a rope and dog droppings. The 61-year-old admitted that the two-year-old mongrel “in the fox terrier type” was his property, he could not explain his behavior. Finally, he stated that he had released the dog to take care of his needs, and he had no intention of leaving himself.
– A completely different situation was noticed by law enforcement officers who found it difficult to believe in these translations, which is why the dog was taken to a shelter – Stefaniec stressed.
He pointed out that such action is treated as a form of animal abuse, which is strictly prohibited by the provisions of the Animal Protection Act. The man is threatened with up to three years imprisonment.
