Dariusz Joński, an MP from the Civic Coalition, published a response to the request for disclosure of public information about the earnings of the heads of the Television Information Agency. “Fasten your seat belts! This is the result of a real parliamentary inspection. Millions for the PiS bosses of TVP. We now know why they barricaded themselves there,” wrote Joński on the X website (formerly Twitter). The record holders are Michał Adamczyk and Jarosław Olechowski. Both of them collected approximately PLN 1.5 million in 2023.
On December 26, Dariusz Joński, a member of the 9th term of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on behalf of the Civic Coalition, submitted to TVP a request for information on the remuneration of people holding the highest positions. After two days, he received a reply, commenting as follows: “Fasten your seat belts! This is the result of a real parliamentary inspection. Millions for the PiS heads of TVP. We now know why they barricaded themselves there.”
Earnings on TVP
According to TVP, it provided information on remuneration:
Michał Adamczykwhose salary was:
– for the employment relationship as the director of TAI (Television Information Agency) in the period from April 25, 2023 to December 31, 2023 – PLN 372,593.71 gross, – for civil law contracts under business activity in 2023 – PLN 1,127,644 (including VAT).
Samuel Pereirawhose remuneration as deputy director of TAI in the period April 25-December 31, 2023 amounted to PLN 439,755.17 gross.
Marcin Tulickiwhose remuneration was:
– for the employment relationship as a deputy director of TAI in the period May 26, 2023 – December 31, 2023 – PLN 417,354.33 gross, – for civil law contracts in 2023 – PLN 296,340 gross.
Rafał Kwiatkowskiwhose remuneration as deputy director of TAI in 2023 amounted to PLN 366,948.03 gross.
Jarosław Olechowskiwhose remuneration in 2023 was:
– for the employment relationship as director of TAI – PLN 1,016,450.34 gross, – for civil law contracts – PLN 407,625 gross.
PiS “defends” TVP
Last Tuesday, December 19, the Sejm adopted a resolution on the restoration of legal order and the impartiality and reliability of the public media and the Polish Press Agency. The Ministry of Culture announced in Wednesday’s announcement that the head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, referring to the Commercial Companies Code, dismissed the current presidents of the management boards of Telewizja Polska, Polskie Radio and Polish Press Agency and their supervisory boards on December 19 this year.
The current presidents of public media protested against the changes introduced, including: PiS MPs as part of parliamentary interventions, from Wednesday, December 20, they occupied the offices of public media, including: TVP, PR and PAP.
The president also does not agree with the way changes are being carried out at TVP Andrzej Duda. On Saturday evening, the president decided to veto the budget-related act for 2024, which included PLN 3 billion for public media.
Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz announced on Wednesday that due to the president’s decision to suspend financing of public media, he decided to liquidate the companies TVP, Polskie Radio and PAP.
