The helicopter crash that killed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in May was caused by bad weather conditions, including thick fog, Iranian state television said, describing the final report of an investigation into the incident.
“The main cause of the helicopter crash was the complicated weather conditions in the region,” the investigation report quoted by Iranian television said.
The report was prepared by a special committee appointed by the Iranian military to investigate the crash. In May, the armed forces announced that they had found no evidence that could indicate an attack or terrorist attack, Reuters recalled.
