South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Hi Sang spoke with Deputy Minister of Development and Technology Jacek Tomczak about how to strengthen economic cooperation with Poland. They discussed various sectors, including the defense industry, the Yonhap agency reported.
During Tuesday's meeting in Warsaw, Kim stressed the importance of deepening cooperation between the two countries in the defense and battery sectors, as well as expanding it to areas such as energy, infrastructure and reconstruction efforts. These were the sixth talks at this level between representatives of both countries.
In response, Tomczak expressed hope that high-level exchanges, including the Joint Economic Committee, would continue to strengthen in the future.
The close economic relations between Seoul and Warsaw are reflected, among others, in the presence of around 390 South Korean companies in Poland, which have created 30,000 jobs, the Yonhap agency reported.
According to her, Poland is South Korea's largest trading partner in Central Europe, and bilateral trade, which has been on an upward trend for six years, reached a record level of USD 10.1 billion last year.
