This is a very general concept and, in my opinion, a bit dangerous. We undoubtedly need to rebuild the arms industry. Does this mean that the entire economy should function under extraordinary conditions? I don't think it's justified – said Jerzy Hausner, economist, chairman of the Open Eyes Economy Summit Program Council, former deputy prime minister and head of the Ministry of Labor, in the “Fakty po Faktach” program, referring to the words of deputy prime minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz regarding the transition of the economy to threats of war.

Professor Jerzy Hausner, asked in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 about his assessment of the words of the head of the Ministry of National Defense regarding switching the economy to the “direct war threat mode”, stated that “this is a very general concept and a bit dangerous.”

– We undoubtedly need to rebuild the arms industry. The situation in which so many European countries are unable to provide ammunition for a conventional war that is taking place so close to the center of Europe shows how defense possibilities have been neglected. Does this mean that the entire economy should function under extraordinary conditions? I don't think it's justified, said the former deputy prime minister.

– However, this collective effort, including the integration of some defense systems, joint design of these systems – I am not talking about joint armed forces, but about the industrial and innovative part – is absolutely necessary and is one of the elements of the European project – he added .

The head of the Ministry of National Defense on the economy in war mode

I believe that Europe should present its economy to the mode of direct threat of war – he said in March on TVN24 Władysław Kosiniak-Kamyszdeputy prime minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense.

– We are preparing an act on investments in the army, infrastructure investments, investments related to facilitating various types of activities expanding the presence of our troops on the territory of Poland, especially in eastern Poland – said the Deputy Prime Minister in “Piasecki's Rozmowa”.

He emphasized that “time is our greatest enemy.” – This is what I experience in the ministry, there is simply no time. Why am I talking about the Infrastructure Act? Because there will also be elements related to the arms industry. There will also be elements related to greater production capacity. Yes, I believe that Europe should present its economic mode to the mode of direct threat of war, said the head of the Ministry of National Defense.

Earlier, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu made a similar statement.
