Police officers from Brzeg and Lewin Brzeski (Opole Voivodeship) detained a 28-year-old Dutch citizen who was transporting drugs hidden in an electric kettle. Earlier, the man was not careful, drove off the road and fell into a flooded field.
A few days ago, at night, police were called to a road accident in the Brzesko district in the province. Opole Province, where the driver of a Volkswagen left the national road No. 94 and fell into a field flooded during the flood.
The entire situation was noticed by gendarmes from the Masovian Military Police Department in Warsaw, who were securing a section of the road damaged during the flood. The gendarmes called the emergency services and went to help the man trapped in the car. At the last minute, he was pulled out of the flooded vehicle.
He had ecstasy and THC on him
According to the police, apart from not being careful while driving, the man also had other reasons for concern. After pulling the car out of the water, the officers searched its interior thoroughly. The police managed to find suspicious substances in the trunk, which were hidden in an electric kettle.
“A 28-year-old Dutch citizen was detained and suspicious substances were secured. In total, the officers seized over 500 grams of MDMA and several portions of THC,” informs the Opole police.
The detained Dutchman was charged with possession of a significant amount of narcotic drugs. At the request of the Brzesko prosecutor's office, the court arrested the man for 3 months. Now he faces a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
