Five-year-old Kelan Logan-Derench died during his first holiday abroad. According to his relatives, during his stay in an Egyptian resort, the boy “suffered a tragic accident and fell into the swimming pool.” The family launched an online collection, appealing for financial support.
The child’s death was confirmed by a spokesman for the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement. He said that ministry employees “are supporting the family of a child from Great Britain who died in Egypt.” The tragically deceased child is five-year-old Kelan Logan-Derench from Royal Sutton Coldfield – according to the description of the collection created by Serena Whitehead, a friend of the deceased’s mother, on the popular crowdfunding platform GoFundMe.
According to the woman, the boy, together with his mother, older sister and grandmother, went on his first foreign holiday last Friday. “Just a day later, he had a tragic accident and fell into the pool. Unfortunately, he could not be saved,” said the organizer of the collection. She went on to describe Kelan as a “swashbuckling, mischievous, happy little boy” and the brother of Sienna’s older sister, who was soon to have a baby brother as well.

“Kelan’s entire family is devastated and we can only imagine the pain they are facing,” Whitehead wrote, asking for financial support for the deceased’s relatives to bring his body to the UK and give him “the funeral he deserves.” On Tuesday afternoon, two days after the start of the collection, her account had nearly 16.7 thousand. pounds (equivalent to approximately PLN 83,000 – ed.).
