Three British tourists are missing after a boat fire broke out off Egypt’s Red Sea on Sunday, Egyptian authorities and security sources told Reuters. 12 tourists and 12 crew members and guides were rescued.

The rescued were given shelter at a nearby diving resort Mars Shagra, about 21 kilometers north of the city of Marsa Alam, along with Egyptian boat crew members and guides, Reuters reported, citing a statement from the governor’s office of the Egyptian Red Sea state and two sources in the Egyptian security services.

The fire was caused by an electrical short on the Hurricane boat, which has been in the waters north of Marsa Alam since June 6, the governor’s statement added.
