A fire broke out on Sunday in a multi-family building in Elbląg (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), the police reported. The remaining 10 residents evacuated from the building.
Before 6 p.m., the services received a report of a fire in an apartment on the second floor of a building at Słoneczna Street.
– 10 people left the building before the arrival of firefighters – informed the spokesman of the Warmian-Masurian Fire Department, Junior Brig. Grzegorz Różański.
Woman’s corpse
A woman’s body was found in the apartment where the fire broke out. – She is a 76-year-old woman, we know her identity – said Chief Inspector Krzysztof Nowacki from the Elbląg police.
The circumstances and causes of the tragic incident will be investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, with the participation of a firefighting expert.
