Co-chairman of the New Left, Robert Biedroń, announced on Saturday that another meeting of the leaders of the Civic Coalition, Third Way and the Left will be held on Monday regarding the formation of a new government. He added that the program teams started work over the weekend. – We will definitely come to an agreement, we will divide the tasks and there will be an agreement on this matter – he assured.
The president’s talks took place at the Presidential Palace from Tuesday Andrzej Duda with the leaders of electoral committees, which will have their representatives in the new Sejm. IN Thursday’s statement the president emphasized that there are two political groups that claim to have a parliamentary majority and have a candidate for prime minister. As he said, he is the United Right’s candidate for prime minister Mateusz Morawieckiand the candidate of KO, Third Way and the Left is Donald Tusk. He also stated that KO, Third Road and the Left have not yet formally concluded a coalition, do not have a coalition agreement and cannot nominate candidates for ministers.

The meeting of politicians is to be held in Warsaw. In parallel to the leaders’ talks, the work of the program team, which met for the first time over the weekend, will take place. Another negotiating team is to meet in the coming days to finalize the details of the tasks that will be distributed between the formations.

Candidates for Prime Minister and Speaker of the Sejm
On Tuesday, the leaders declared that their common candidate for prime minister is PO leader Donald Tusk. Third Way politicians see Szymon Hołownia, the leader of Poland 2050, as the speaker of the Sejm, and the Left wants to choose the still current deputy speaker, Włodzimierz Czarzasty.
Robert Biedroń in an interview with PAP emphasized that his formation will fight for the position of marshal for Czarzasty. He noted that PSL, Polska 2050 and the Left are more or less equal in terms of the number of parliamentarians. – Each of us may have the ambition to have our own Speaker of the Sejm – he added.
IN elections to the Sejm, which took place on October 15, Law and Justice won 194 seats, KO – 157; Third Road (Poland 2050 and PSL) – 65; New Left – 26; Confederation – 18.
