The PiS government divided Poland like a cake. Such a cake that everyone can eat, but above all the government – said Katarzyna Kotula (Left) in “Fakty po Faktach”. According to her, “this is a real cash change, what we have seen in the last eight years.” – And President Jarosław Kaczyński has the audacity to announce today that they have good proposals – she added. Cezary Tomczyk (KO) pointed out that “power belongs to the nation, not PiS. – The PiS party has confused the interests of the state with the interests of the political party. They do not go hand in hand,” he said.
Saturday was full of electoral conventions of the government and the opposition. The Civic Coalition presented “100 specifics for the first 100 days“, The Left talked about what is hidden under its slogan “Good work for a good life“She also presented her main election demands that day Third Way. Law and Justice also organized a programming convention.
MPs Katarzyna Kotula (Left) and MPs talked about Saturday’s conventions in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. Cezary Tomczyk (KO).
– What made me laugh the most today was a quote Jarosław Kaczyńskiwho said that after eight years of rule by Law and Justice we will regain Poland – said Kotula. She assessed that “the PiS government divided Poland like a cake.” – A cake from which everyone can feed themselves, but above all, the government and people associated with Law and Justice can feed themselves. This is truly a real change, what we have been seeing for the last eight years. And President Jarosław Kaczyński has the nerve to announce today that they have good proposals for the coming years – she commented.
She referred to PiS’s demand for the introduction of seniority pensions. – I say: I’m checking. For the last year, at every meeting of the (parliamentary) social policy and family committee, politicians from the Left asked when we would proceed with the internship pensions. After all, the president was talking about these seniority pensions Andrzej Duda in his 2021 campaign. This project Law and Justice put it in the freezer – she emphasized.
– If they cheated once, they will cheat again, so today I say to retirees: do not be fooled by the lies of President Jarosław Kaczyński – appealed Kotula.
She also referred to another announcement by the government regarding the renovation of prefabricated blocks of flats. – This really made me laugh. Because first PiS promised three million apartments, then apartment plus and 100,000 (apartments – ed.). We know how this program ended, she added.
Tomczyk: We take every statement of PiS politicians into legal consideration
Tomczyk was asked about the Prime Minister’s words Mateusz Morawiecki, which was quoted by Anita Werner, the host of the program: – Our predecessors contributed to a great waste, to a gigantic budget gap, over PLN 200 million. How many thousands of roads ended up in the pockets of the VAT mafia? I encourage them to challenge it in the electoral process, because if not, it means that you are admitting to this great theft.
The KO MP was asked whether his party was preparing an election lawsuit. – It’s good that we are in the electoral process and it’s good that there are specifics, because I would like to say that it was none other than the government of Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz who prepared all these changes and introduced changes that today mean that we can fight the VAT mafia. owska – said the TVN24 guest.
Asked again whether there will be a lawsuit in the electoral mode, Tomczyk replied: – We take every statement of PiS politicians to the legal workshop and every time there is a lie, we will take the case to court.
“Power belongs to the people, power does not belong to PiS”
The parliamentarian argued and further emphasized that “power belongs to the nation, power does not belong to PiS.” – This is the problem today, that the PiS party has confused the interests of the state with the interests of a political party. It doesn’t go together, he emphasized.
In his opinion, “when we talk about justice and what they did to the courts, we are absolutely sure that they did it so that you could steal with impunity.” – So that the prosecutor in Poland today, who is dependent on Ziobro, cannot accuse any PiS politician of all the filthy things they do every day – he added.
Promises of the Left and KO at conventions
Politicians also talked about what they would like voters to remember after their party’s conventions.
Kotula mentioned in this context: – No more unpaid internships, i.e. a minimum hourly rate for interns. 100 percent of remuneration for sick leave, (…) also for child leave – you cannot punish people today for being sick. Interest for late payment of salaries – this is something we often encounter in these matters, and we often intervene.
Among the other issues, she mentioned 20% increases for the budget, shortening working time to 35 hours a week, 35 days of annual leave, strengthening the powers of the National Labor Inspectorate and higher remuneration for work on Sundays and holidays.
In turn, Tomczyk emphasized that KO proposes “a radical tax reduction, i.e. a tax-free amount (in the amount – editor) of PLN 60,000.” He also reminded about the lack of income tax on pensions up to PLN 5,000.
Another issue, he said, concerns “settlement of PiS”. – Because this is not a matter of revenge, it is a matter of justice – he argued. – This is an issue, of course, also close to my heart, i.e. in vitro funding, it is a question of women’s rights, i.e. prenatal tests that will be available to all mothers, it is a question of a certain change in the philosophy of the state – added the KO MP.
