Szymon Hołownia, chairman of Poland 2050 and one of the leaders of the Third Way, said in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 that from tomorrow, when the official election results will probably be announced, talks and consultations of opposition parties on forming a government will begin. – We have already said many times as Poland 2050 that we are ready in this government to take co-responsibility for such ministries as defense, climate and energy, which are extremely important to us, such as education – he enumerated.
Szymon Hołownia spoke in “Kropka nad i” about who has a chance to become prime minister if the democratic opposition parties were to form the future government.
– When I left the office, the democratic opposition had an advantage of about three million votes over PiS. That’s a big advantage. The largest one is the Civic Platform and I understand that the host of the process of talks about who will be the prime minister will, according to custom and tradition, be the head of the largest party on this side, he said.
Hołownia: talks starting tomorrow
– From tomorrow, when the official results are announced, talks and consultations will begin. – However, I also think that we have a lot to do in the Sejm, in the parliament. The Parliament needs to be refreshed and disinfected. I don’t know, maybe we’ll talk about it. It seems to me that we rarely pay attention – focusing on the government – to the crisis that has gripped the parliament. Parliament is dysfunctional at the moment. He does not serve the citizens. He is a sham parliament. We have to change this, he continued.
Hołownia was asked who could become the future Minister of National Defense. – We still need to talk about this calmly, internally, because our partner PSL certainly has its own preferences in this regard. We are a loyal, responsible partner. We know that first we have to work out our common position, and then we will talk together with the Civic Platform, Civic Coalition and the Left, he said.
At the same time, he added that he hoped that President Andrzej Duda “will not delay” in entrusting him with the mission of forming a government.
