Elections 2023. What happened at the PiS headquarters? The crowd in the frame with Mateusz Morawiecki, the room is empty

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki gave a short interview yesterday at the PiS headquarters during the election evening. Talking to a journalist after the announcement of the exit poll results, he presented himself against the background of a group of people. Judging by the frames shown in the media, one may get the impression that around 9:30 p.m. the PiS headquarters was crowded. Recordings made then by the “Fakty” TVN team show that it is quite the opposite.

Election evening at the PiS headquarters Arleta Zalewska, a reporter of “Fakty” TVN, reported. As you can see in the recordings, Prime Minister Morawiecki was standing in the middle of the corridor while giving comments to journalists. Behind him, in a tight group, stood twenty-something people. The rest of the room, however, was empty.

– There were no politicians in the crowd, only a few activists. I was on these staffs previously in 2010, 2011 and 2015. Back then there was a wild crowd, there were a lot of politicians. Now there were the fewest in history – described Zalewska. – Let me be honest: there was a wake there – summed up the reporter. She specified that the place where the politicians were staying shortly after the announcement of the preliminary results was deserted at 9:10 p.m., and the politicians went to the back room. – At 9:20 p.m. there was almost no one there, it was empty – admitted the reporter of “Fakty” TVN.
