Elections 2023. PiS candidates to the Sejm – district no. 14

Here, PiS focused on proven names and one paratrooper, whose result remains unknown. Four years ago, starting from number one Arkadiusz Mularczyk collected over 70 thousand votes, but this year it was moved to second place. The first place was taken by the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, who aroused much controversy with his statements Ryszard Terleckand, which achieved a dramatically poor result four years ago in its hometown of Krakow. Only slightly over 10,000 voters voted for him there, and he started in a strong second place. Now it is to be a “locomotive” in the Nowy Sącz region and near the Tatra Mountains.

The remaining places on the PiS list were taken by proven parliamentarians: Barbara Bartuś, Anna Paluch, Edward Siarka or one of the richest MPs Andrzej Gut-Mostowy. The list of PiS ends with a veteran who started his political career in “Solidarity” and ZSL in the 1980s, a member of groups from PSL to the League of Polish Families, to PiS – Bogdan Pęk.

Elections 2023. KO candidates to the Sejm – district no. 14

A revolution that may bear fruit was carried out by the Civic Coalition on the Tatra Mountains list. Four years ago, only one mandate was obtained in the region. It was won by Jagna Marczulajtis-Walczak, European champion and three-time participant of the Olympic Games in snowboarding. This time, the athlete represents KO in Krakow, and she became number one in Zakopane and the surrounding area Weronika Smarduch.

Smarduch is a young vice-chairwoman of the Małopolska PO. She is a financial analyst, comes from Łopuszna, and her family lived next door and was friends with Fr. Józef Tischner. Her father, Jan Smarduch, has been the mayor of the Nowy Targ commune for years. Smarduch herself has been very active in recent years, she has rebuilt some of the PO structure in Podhale, and the party has put young names on its list, but related to the region, not necessarily to the party itself. Numbers two and three are Piotr Lachowicz and Elżbieta Ruchała. Ruchała was a lawyer running a law firm in Nowy Sącz. Lachowicz is a KO councilor from the Małopolska regional council. Each mandate above a certain number one will be a success for KO in the south of Małopolska.
