After elections parliamentary president Andrzej Duda held consultations with representatives of electoral committees that will be represented in the next Sejm. On Thursday, he announced that there are two serious candidates for the position of prime minister. He clarified that he was the PiS candidate Mateusz Morawieckiand KO, Third Way and Left – Donald Tusk. The democratic opposition can count on 248 seats in the new Sejm, and PiS – on 194.
The president has not yet decided who he will entrust with the mission of forming the government. Andrzej Duda also stated on Thursday that he had tentatively planned the first meeting of the Sejm of the 10th term for Monday, November 13.

– We all know what has been happening in recent days, specifically since October 16. Suddenly, in all the ministries we know, Czarnek’s Ministry of Science, Gliński’s Ministry of Culture, the National Freedom Institute, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, in all these institutions, projects, applications, competitions are suddenly being decided at an express pace, additional funds are added, so we are dealing with a gigantic jump in the box office – he added.
Kulasek: the president takes full responsibility for what is happening
According to Marcin Kulasek (New Left) “the president takes full responsibility for what is happening, for prolonging this embarrassing spectacle.” – He says: there are frameworks for the constitution, he does not want to shorten the term of office of this Sejm without a reason. But what is happening at the moment, including in PARP (Polish Agency for Enterprise Development – ed.) and in the ministries, is the siphoning of money, i.e. the latest money grab by PiS ruling appointees, he said.
– Instead of being the guardian of the constitution, he is in fact the guardian of PiS severance packages for those who need to eat and get rich for the time when we take power away from them – he added.
– We will hold them accountable to show Poles what really happened. This is our duty. We need to conduct an audit of both the state finances and all those companies where they took money outside their budgets. Things need to be checked to see if the law was broken. If it was violated, those responsible should be convicted. And this is our duty, he declared.
