On September 19, the regulation on a 12% reduction in electricity prices for households in 2023 will come into force – the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, announced on social media. She also stated that the annual bill would be reduced by approximately PLN 120.

On Monday, an amendment to the regulation on detailed rules for shaping and calculating tariffs and settlements in electricity trade was published in the Journal of Laws. According to the new regulations, electricity sellers are to reduce the amount due by 12% in their 2023 settlements with household customers. product of the average energy prices for the G11 tariff and a volume of 2523 kWh. The average energy price in the G11 tariff for 2022 published by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office is PLN 0.4140 per kWh. The maximum reduction in receivables may amount to PLN 125.

Changes in electricity prices – new regulation

On the X platform (formerly Twitter), the head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced that the new regulation – prepared by the Ministry of Climate and Environment – will enter into force on September 19. She also pointed out that thanks to it, “electricity sellers will reduce the annual bill for households by approximately PLN 120 in 2023.”

According to the regulation, if the energy consumer meets one of the conditions indicated in the project, the reduction is to be settled “without undue delay”, no later than on the last invoice in 2023. These conditions are: a 5% reduction. consumption during a period of at least three consecutive months in the first three quarters of 2023; confirming the correctness of your data held by the electricity seller; consent to receiving correspondence, including VAT invoices, electronically; consent to receive information from the seller about products and services provided by him; being a prosumer, or submitting a declaration that you are the so-called a customer entitled to frozen prices within a higher than basic consumption limit.

If the recipient does not meet any of the above conditions, the settlement for 2023 is to be made in invoices for subsequent settlement periods in 2024, but not later than by March 31, 2024.
