The Energy Regulatory Office has received tariff applications regarding electricity prices from all the largest so-called ex officio sellers, Agnieszka Głościwska, spokeswoman for the Energy Regulatory Office, told TVN24 Biznes. The deadline in this case was Tuesday, October 31.
As she explained, the applications were submitted by Tauron Głos, Energa Obrót, PGE Obrót and Enea SA. These companies are obliged to submit applications for approval of tariffs for the sale of electricity to households.
Agnieszka Głowniewska also reported that the Energy Regulatory Office also “received tariff applications from four of the five largest distributors: Stoen Operator, Energa Operator, Enea Operator and Tauron Dystrybucja.” – We are waiting for PGE – she added.
The spokeswoman also informed that the Energy Regulatory Office “is starting to analyze these applications.”
Electricity prices in 2024
The freezing regulations introduced by the government are in force until the end of 2023 electricity priceswhich protect household consumers against increases in energy bills, up to specific consumption limits.
So far, it is not known whether the system will be extended until 2024 and in what form. The President of the Energy Regulatory Office, Rafał Gawin, said on Tuesday on TOK FM radio that without further price freezing, next year’s energy bill could potentially be over 50 percent higher. Earlier, in an interview with “Rzeczpospolita”, he even talked about 70 percent.
In his opinion, unfreezing energy prices should be gradual and spread over time. He assessed that the regulations on possible further freezing of energy prices should be adopted as soon as possible, preferably in December, or possibly at the beginning of next year.
