The third common child of Elon Musk and Canadian singer Grimes was born. The boy, like his older siblings, received an original name – Tau Techno Mechanicus. The founder and owners of Tesla already have ten children in total.
Musk confirmed the information about the birth of his next child in an entry he published on his X platform (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, September 10. “Tau Techno Mechanicus,” wrote the billionaire. It was a response to a post by the entertainment industry profile Pop Base, which a day earlier reported the birth of a child, omitting the first name (Tau), which was corrected by Musk himself.
CNN emphasizes that the pregnancy of Grimes, Musk’s partner, was kept secret until the very end. Tau Techno Mechanicus is the third child of the Canadian singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, and the 52-year-old businessman. The couple started dating in 2018. Two years later, their son was born, named X AE A-XII. In December 2021, Musk and Boucher’s second child was born – a daughter born through a surrogate, whose name was not initially made public. A few months later, Grimes revealed that the girl’s name was Exa Dark Sideræl.
The portal explains that although the singer and the businessman announced their separation in September 2021, the status of their relationship has remained “very fluid” since then.

Elon Musk already has ten children in total. Last September, Business Insider, citing court documents, reported that in November 2021, the Tesla founder became the father of twins. The portal reported that she was their mother Shivon Zilis, executive director at Neuralink, one of the billionaire’s companies, which was later officially confirmed. A few days ago, the first photo of Musk with the twins appeared on social media. In an interview with TIME magazine, the businessman also revealed the boys’ names – Strider and Azure.
In 2004, Musk’s first wife, Justine, gave birth to twins Griffin and Xavier. Two years later, the couple had triplets – Kai, Saxon and Damian. In both cases, in vitro fertilization was used.
