The Emmy Awards 2021 went to the winners. “The Crown”, “Ted Lasso” and “The Queen’s Gambit” were awarded in the most important series categories. The creators of “The Crown” won Emmys in all categories.

Emmy 2021 handed out. The American Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Academy of Television) has awarded its annual Emmys for the 73rd time. As they are analogous to the Academy Awards in the Movie World, the Emmy Awards are often referred to as “Television Oscars”.

Due to the restrictions in place in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of people has been reduced this year. Although the gala was held in Los Angeles, there was also a remote part. Some of the invited guests gathered at London’s Soho House.

Emmy 2021. The best series and the best creators

The biggest winner of this year’s Emma Night is the makers of “The Crown”, who dominate all categories of the drama series. And it was the British who won the Emmy for the best drama series. The best comedy series was – and there were no surprises – “Ted Lasso”. However, the unexpected verdict was given last: “The Queen’s Gambit” was chosen the best miniseries.

The New Zealand native Jessica Hobbs for the “War” episode of “The Crown” was recognized for the best directing of a drama series. The same episode was awarded in the category of the best script in a drama series, and the statuette was collected by Peter Morgan.

“Few women have won this award, so I feel that I am taking advantage of the achievements of great people and grateful to them for blazing the trail,” Hobbs said, receiving the award in London.

Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky were awarded for the best script for a comedy series for the script of an episode of “There Is No Line” of the series “Hacks”. For the same episode, Lucia Aniello won an Emmy for Best Director in a Comedy Series.

Emmy 2021 for the script for a miniseries, anthology or a TV movie went to Michaela Coel, the author of the series “I can destroy you”. The statuette in the category of the best directing of a miniseries, anthology or a television film was awarded to Scott Frank for the series “The Queen’s Gambit”.

The best talent show was “RuPaul’s Drag Race”.

Emmy 2021. The best actresses and actors

Best Actress in a Comedy Series was Jean Smart for her lead role in “Hacks”. This is the fourth Emma in the career of the actress. Smart nearly quit her role when her husband Richard Gilliland passed away in March of this year. She started her thanks from the memories of the deceased.

Jason Sudeikis became the best actor in the series for the title role in “Ted Lasso”. Gwiazdor was nominated in four categories – including twice for the best script for a comedy series. His teammates Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein won an Emmy for Best Supporting Role in a Comedy Series.

Emmy 2021 in acting categories for the roles in the drama series went entirely to the stars of the series “The Crown”. Olivia Colman, who played the role of Queen Elizabeth II, became the best actress. Josh O’Connor was awarded for the role of Prince Charles, Gillian Anderson for the supporting role of Margaret Thatcher and Tobias Menzies for the supporting role of the Duke of Edinburgh Philip.

Kate Winslet received an Emmy for her role in the miniseries “Mare of Easttown.” Supporting roles in it: Evan Peters and Julianne Nicholson also received “TV Oscars” for their acting roles. Ewan McGregor went to Ewan McGregor for the amazing title role in “Halston” for Best Actor in a Miniseries, Anthology or Television Film category.
