On Saturday, the 19th Equality March passes through Poznań. “Unfortunately, the demands and needs of the LGBT+ community are still not met, so in fact, we are still marching for the same thing for 19 years,” said the Stonewall activist. According to estimates, it is to be the second largest march in Poland.

The Equality March in Poznań is one of the oldest such events in Poland. This year it is held for the 19th time. The route of the march is exceptionally long and avoids the city center. The reason is the ongoing renovations there.

A representative of the Stonewall Group presented the manifesto of this year’s Equality March. – This is the 19th Equality March in Poznań. We’ve been gathering here since 2004. During this time, the Polish community LGBT+ did a great job. Contrary to the violence, discrimination and hatred against us, Equality Marches are gathering in almost 30 cities in Poland, stressed the activist. The postulates included, inter alia, the introduction of marriage equality with the right to adopt children, the simplification of the administrative procedure for gender reconciliation, the introduction of a ban on inciting hatred and insulting people on the basis of gender identity, gender expression or sex characteristics, and the ban on conversion therapy and its promotion. Later, in an interview with a TVN24 reporter, the activist said: – Unfortunately, the postulates and needs of the LGBT+ community are still not met, so in fact we have been marching for the same for 19 years.
