On Saturday, an equality parade took place through the streets of Prague. This is the first such event in June – the month of pride. The police said it was calm. The organizers announce two more marches.

Parade participants gathered at the point of the Kiss+Ride zone of the Wileński Railway Station, next to the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene, Equal to the Apostles in Warsaw, and then walked towards the Wiatraczna roundabout.

What did the participants demand?

The event's Facebook page states that participants are demanding, among other things: “legalization of marriages between persons of the same sex with the right to adopt children”, “introduction of a third and, if necessary, further gender categories on identity cards and passports or abolition of gender marking in documents” and “ban on hate speech against sexual minorities, sex workers and others communities experiencing exclusions that are not yet covered by law.

According to the Social Communication Department of the Capital Police Headquarters, the event took place in a calm atmosphere and no serious incidents were reported. He added that one of the meetings was still ongoing (as of 3:15 p.m.) and was expected to last until the evening.

It was the first of the planned equality parades planned for June this year. in Warsaw. According to the announcement, two more are planned for June 15 this year and June 22 this year.
