Estonia, Baltic Sea. The Germans and British intercepted three Russian planes

British and German Typhoon fighter jets stationed in Estonia have intercepted and escorted three Russian planes flying over the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea, Estonian television ERR reported.

The fighter jets, stationed at the Estonian Amari base as part of a NATO airspace monitoring mission, escorted two Russian fighter jets and a reconnaissance plane on Monday. The machines flew from Russian bases near the Baltic states to Kaliningrad.

The British Air Force said Russian flights over the Baltic Sea were regular and Monday’s interception of planes was “routine”.

In 2022, planes FOR THIS more than 200 times took off from their bases to respond to the passage of Russian aircraft. Since 2016, there have also been 40 airspace violations by Russian pilots Estonia.
