Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas announced on Monday that her country’s borders remain heavily guarded due to recent events in Russia. She made a reservation that there was still no immediate threat to Estonia.

– Although Prigozhin has been detained, the situation and its long-term consequences are still unclear. Therefore, our eastern borders will remain heavily guarded and guarded. We call on Estonians to refrain from traveling to Russia, added Kallas.

Estonia strengthens borders with Russia

The Estonian Prime Minister has already organized a similar meeting on Saturday and held talks with partners from Poland, LatviaLithuania, Finland, Sweden and Belgium. On Monday, she assured that coordination of activities and exchange of information with allies would continue.

Kallas announced on Saturday that in connection with the rebellion of the head of the Wagnerists, the borders connecting Estonia with Russia will be strengthened and border controls tightened. The Estonian Foreign Ministry has called on its citizens to leave Russia at the earliest possible opportunity.
