Over 30 NATO warships and nearly 3.7 thousand sailors will take part in the largest naval exercise in Estonian history – Baltops. The first of them began arriving in Tallinn on Tuesday, ERR TV reported.
– This year’s release of Baltops is a historic event for us as we have never experienced such a large maritime presence before FOR THIS in our country – said Juri Saska, commander of the Estonian Navy.
– Exercises prove the allies’ dedication and willingness to defend together Estonia and the entire Baltic region.
Baltops exercises in Estonia
The small French advice ships Commandant Blaison (F793) have already arrived in the country – and the British transport ship HMS Albion (L14).
The Baltops exercises are the largest international maneuvers organized in the Baltic Sea. They have been organized since 1972.
