Security situation ‘requires even better vision’

“The changing security situation requires us to see even better, to know even better what is happening in our immediate environment, so that we can respond to threats as quickly as possible,” said Kaupo Kaasik, coordinator of infrastructure projects at the Defense Investment Center.

Kopu Lighthouse is the third oldest operating lighthouse in the world and the first of its type on the Baltic Sea. Plans for its construction date back to the end of the 15th century, the first fire on its top was lit in 1531.

Kopu is also the highest point in western Estonia, at 68 meters above sea level.
