Information about Ethel Kennedy's death was announced by her daughter Kerry on October 10 in an entry published on the X platform. “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our mother, Ethel Kennedy. She died this morning as a result of complications following a stroke she suffered last week,” we read in statement.

Ethel Kennedy's daughter noted in her entry that her mother leaves behind not only the years of work she devoted to fighting for human rights and social equality. She also left behind members of a large family who loved her very much. “Nine kids34 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her very much,” we read. “We are comforted in knowing that she is reunited with the love of her life, our father, Robert F. Kennedy; children David and Michael; daughter-in-law Maria; grandchildren Maeve and Saoirse; and her great-grandchildren Gideon and Josie,” the post said. The family finally asked that Ethel Kennedy be kept in their hearts and in their prayers.

Ethel Kennedy experienced many family tragedies
Ethel Kennedy was born on April 11, 1928. At the age of 17, she met Robert F. Kennedy, whom she married five years later. The couple had a total of 11 children kids – the youngest, a daughter, Rory, was born seven months after her father's death. Ethel Kennedy was politically involved, supporting, among others,incl. her husband in campaigns. His tragic death had a huge impact on her. In 1968, Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated. Unfortunately, this was not the only tragedy in her family. In 1955, she lost both her parents in the crash of their private plane. She was also survived by two sons – David, who died in 1984, and Michael, who died 13 years later. After her husband's death, Ethel Kennedy withdrew from public life for some time. In the 1970s, she resumed her activities, devoting herself to work for human rights. She founded an organization called the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Center.
