EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders visits Poland. He met with Marian Banas and Zbigniew Ziobra

EU justice commissioner Didier Reynders began his visit to Warsaw on Thursday. He met, among others, with the head of the Supreme Audit Office, Marian Banas, and the Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobra. Later, he will take part in the meeting of parliamentary committees and will talk to the Marshal of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki.

Reynders started his two-day visit to Warsaw on Thursday morning. He met with the Minister for European Union Affairs, Konrad Szymański, and later with the head of the Supreme Audit Office, Marian Banas.

Around noon, he met Zbigniew Ziobra, the Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General.

Commissioner Reynders’ further plans

In the afternoon, Reynders will take part in the meeting of the joint parliamentary committees: justice and human rights and EU affairs. He will present the second EC report on the rule of law.

A review of the rule of law in all 27 member states has been underway since last year. The individual chapters analyze compliance with the rule of law by all EU countries. Later on Thursday, he will also meet Tomasz Grodzki, Marshal of the Senate.

During his visit, Commissioner Reynders will also talk to the First President of the Supreme Court, Małgorzata Manowska, and the Ombudsman, Marcin Wiącek.

On Friday, at 6 p.m., Reynders will hold a press conference at the headquarters of the EC Representation in Poland.
