The 45-year-old French filmmaker made her debut in 2013 with the film “La bataille de Solferino”. In 2019, in the Main Competition of the Cannes festival, she presented “Sybilla”, which was considered one of the most perverse films of the then race for the Palme d’Or. Sandra Hüller played a supporting role. As with the two titles mentioned above, Triet collaborated with Arthur Harari on the script for “Anatomy d’une chute”.

Recognized with the Palme d’Or at this year’s edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the film is the story of a court trial in the atmosphere of a documentary. “Sandra, Samuel and their visually dissimilar son Daniel have been living in the mountain wilderness for the past few years. After Samuel is found dead near the house, an investigation into the death in suspicious circumstances begins. In an atmosphere of uncertainty, Sandra is accused, and the main the question is: was it suicide or murder? A year later, Daniel takes part in his mother’s trial, and the case becomes an analysis of his parents’ relationship,” we read in the film’s description.
