– I agree with Donald Tusk's words that the elections to the European Parliament are as important as those of June 4, 1989. We are on the best way to return to the family of democratic countries – said Piotr Zgorzelski, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm (PSL-Trzecia Droga), in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. – The next elections will show our place in the European Union – said Monika Rosa, an MP from the Civic Coalition.

On Tuesday, the Civic Platform rally was held at Castle Square in Warsaw on the anniversary of the first, partially free elections, which took place on June 4, 1989. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who spoke, encouraged people to vote elections to the European Parliament. – Today I called you to Warsaw so that we could all speak together, as loudly as possible, to everyone, both in Poland and in Europe. This day, June 9, these elections will be as important as those (…) on June 4, 1989 – said the head of government. – Believe me, there in the Kremlin, for them the possible political capture of Brussels would be more important than the capture of Kharkov – he emphasized.

These words were referred to in “Fakty po Faktach” by MP from the Civic Coalition, Monika Rosa and Piotr ZgorzelskiDeputy Speaker of the Sejm (PSL-Trzecia Droga).

– The next elections will show our place in the European Union. They will show whether we will be a strong Poland integrating in Europe, which will be safe within the community – said Rosa.

She emphasized that “the issue of our raison d'état and our security, especially in the context of the conflict abroad, the war in Ukraine, is our presence in the European Union, having a strong representation there, representatives who will fight for our security.” – And such a guarantee is provided by MEPs elected within the Civic Coalition, or more broadly the coalition on October 15 – she said.

She said she did not believe the president of Law and Justice Jarosław Kaczyńskiwho says that his group does not want to leave the EU because “it sends people to the European Union who are thieves and liars.”

Zgorzelski: we are on the best way to return to the family of democratic countries

– I agree with Donald Tusk's words that these elections are as important as those on June 4, because now, after the elections on October 15, Poland is emerging from a huge turning point that it might not survive during another possible term of office of Law and Justice, Zgorzelski said.

As he added, “we are on the best way to return to the family of European states, to the family of democratic states, which are based on four simple pillars: democracy, the rule of law, capitalism and civil society.”

– On October 15, the voice of unheard citizens was heard not only by Poland, but also by all of Europe. And that is why Europe must hear the voice of all those who woke up on October 15 and will continue to lead Poland in this direction, he said.

– I agree with Donald Tusk. This is the political logic in the European dimension today, that right-wing parties, nationalist parties, all those parties whose banners have supposedly reforming the European Union, de facto say one thing and think another. Because they say they want to reform, they think they want to dismantle it, said the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm. – The European Union cannot be dismantled, because it is a zone of security and development that has happened to us like no other political project in millennia – he noted.
