– Regarding the start of voting, we have not received any information about any disruptions at any of the polling stations – said Sylwester Marciniak, chairman of the National Electoral Commission. He added that there are nearly 32,000 polling stations throughout the country.

– Regarding the issue of incidents related to elections since the election silence, I must note with satisfaction that, according to timely reports from the Police Headquarters, it probably happened for the first time when I received yesterday at 6 a.m., i.e. after 6 hours of election silence, timely report number one was zero, that is, there were no events related to the elections of Members of the European Parliament regarding crimes or misdemeanors – said the head of NEC.

He noted that “the current report from 6 a.m. indicates that no crimes have still been recorded.”

– However, a total of 13 offenses were recorded in 32,000 voting precincts and nearly 29 million voters – he added. As he clarified, 5 offenses concern placing posters in a public place without the consent of the owner and destroying such posters, while 8 offenses concern the violation of election silence.

Marciniak said that all members of the National Electoral Commission agree that they “don't remember such peaceful elections.”

The next NEC conference is to be held at 1:30 p.m., then attendance data from 12. The third conference is to be held at 18.30 – then the attendance is to be announced as at 17. The last NEC conference is scheduled for 22.
