The 69th Eurovision Song Contest, which was founded in 1955, ended, and its first edition took place in May 1956 in Swiss Lugano. In its 69 -year history, the competition was canceled only once – in 2020, in connection with the outbreak of Pandemia Covid-19. It is one of the longest broadcast television productions in the world and the longest -organized cyclical television music competition in history.

Thanks to the victory of the Swiss song “The Code” performed by Nemo, this year's edition took place in Basel. As Reuters informed 100,000 people took part in various Eurovision events throughout the city. The estimated budget of this year's edition was EUR 65 million.

After the announcement of the jury's voting results in 37 countries that took part in this year's edition, the Austria team (258 points) came first. It was not the end of emotions: after the summary of the votes cast by viewers, he led for a long time Israelwhich scored the most points from the audience – 297. When the time came to announce the score of Austria awarded to Austria, it turned out that 24 -year -old JJ received 178 points, which ensured him winning in this year's competition.

Austria won with 436 points, in second place was Israel (357 points), and the podium closed Estonia (356 points).

Justyna Steczkowska, representing Poland this year, took the 14th place with the result of 156 points.
