The evacuation from Afghanistan is underway, in which the Polish government is also involved. According to Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz, the last Polish citizens flew out of Kabul on Thursday afternoon. In the program “Tak jest” on TVN24, the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that a total of “even several hundred people” could be evacuated to Poland. – These are not only those people who cooperated only with the Polish mission or the Polish contingent, there are many people who want to board the Polish plane for various reasons – he added.

He landed in Warsaw on Wednesday evening first plane with people evacuated from Afghanistan on Thursday morning next. – Several dozen people are already safe in Poland – said Marcin Przydacz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs at the conference.

– These are people who want to get out of Afghanistan for various reasons. Some of them are people who actively worked for a democratic Afghanistan in cooperation with Poland. We want to help them in a natural way, first of all. There are many requests, and the conditions are extremely difficult – he said. He informed that all Afghans who end up in Poland are transported to special centers, are staying in safe places and can apply for humanitarian visas.

Przydacz also spoke more about the evacuation from Afghanistan in the TVN24 program “Tak jest”.

He said that the list of people who want to leave Afghanistan “fluctuates all the time, decreases, increases depending on the situation.” – It’s hard to say at this point. We can see that there are thousands of people who want to return, we will try to carry out this action as long as it is safe and necessary – he said.

He said he hoped that this action would last “for the next several hours, perhaps several days”.

– There are dozens of people moved by each plane. It can be up to several hundred people, but we will finally see how many of them can get out. These are not only those people who cooperated only with the Polish mission or the Polish contingent, there are many people who, for various reasons, want to board a Polish plane, not necessarily having contacts with Poland, added the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, on Thursday afternoon, Przydacz said that “the last two Polish citizens flew from Kabul towards Uzbekistan.” – We hope that they will reach Poland safely. At this stage, there are no more Polish citizens (in Afghanistan) that we know about. Which does not mean that in the perspective of minutes, hours or days such information will not be available – he emphasized.

– At the moment, all Poles with whom we had contact have left Afghanistan – repeated the deputy minister.

Przydacz said that Poland “coordinates activities with the American and British sides present”. – It is worth thanking for this support. Allied forces cooperate very actively. We will help other groups. We, having our diplomats and planes in place, will help to transport more people, he announced.

– We do not know how long the airport in Kabul will be safe. The point is to help all those who need it. We must jointly and severally carry out this task – added the deputy minister.

Przydacz assured that the evacuation action would be carried out as long as it was possible. – At the moment I cannot indicate when the last plane will arrive. We want to help as many people as possible – he emphasized.
