Evacuation of residents of Kuźnia Raciborska, valid until further notice

The Mayor of Kuźnia Raciborska ordered the evacuation of people in three towns due to the flood threat, namely Rudy, Ruda Kozielska and Kuźnia Raciborska. The crisis situation is related to the increased intake by the Rybnik Reservoir from the rivers: Ruda, Nacyna.

Evacuation locations have been designated. Residents of Ruda will be transported to Jan III Sobieski Elementary School at ul. Rogera 2, while residents of Ruda Kozielska will be transported to the Volunteer Fire Department at ul. Wildek. Residents of Kuźnia Raciborska will be temporarily housed in the Municipal Cultural, Sports and Recreation Centre at ul. Klasztorna 9.

“During evacuation, you should: follow the instructions issued in the form of announcements, leave your place of residence and go to the evacuation site in accordance with this order, take the necessary things with you (including an identity document, medicines, basic hygiene products)” – we read in the statement.

– After a difficult and difficult night for all of us, we provide the following information: the state of our rivers has been maintained at a constant level for the last 4 hours. The level of discharges from the Rybnik power plant reservoir has been maintained at a constant level of 25 cubic meters. Despite regular discharges, no increase in the level of our rivers has been recorded. The evacuation remains in force until further notice – we read in a statement from the city office in Kuźnia Raciborska.

Due to the rising water level of the Ruda River, Kindergarten No. 1 in Kuźnia Raciborska will be closed from Monday until further notice. Parents who cannot organize care for their children can bring them to Kindergarten No. 2.
