By decision of my superiors, I no longer investigate about the so -called two towers – prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek said on Tuesday. She said that this was related to the end of the delegation to the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office. She noted that the national prosecutor knew that he wanted to continue this investigation.

Key facts:

  • Ewa Wrzosek conducted this investigation since February this year. It was resumed, because during the rule of the United Right, the prosecutor's office refused to investigate.
  • A spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw said that the prosecutor's written consent was necessary to continue the delegation, and this – as the spokesman informed on Wednesday – did not express it.
  • “It is not true that I did not agree to further extend the duration of this delegation,” Wrzosek wrote.

“By decision of my superiors from today, I no longer investigate the so -called two towers. The end of my delegation to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw did not have to mean taking me away from me or the other proceedings.

She added that “this desk is not doing the case, but a specific prosecutor.” “So what does it matter, does it do it at Chocimska Street or Progy Street?” – she summed up in the post. At ul. Chocimska in Warsaw, the District Prosecutor's Office is based, and at ul. Progress – Warsaw -Mokotów District Prosecutor's Office. And it was from the second Wrzosek that she was temporarily delegated to the district.

Spokesman: The prosecutor's office wanted to extend the delegation

For several days, there have been reports in the media that Wrzosek would lose his investigation in connection with the end of the delegation. On Wednesday, PO spokesman in Warsaw Piotr Skiba referred to them in a press release on X,

“On June 5, 2025, in view of the expiry of the delegation of prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, a conversation of the District Prosecutor in Warsaw took place with the delegate, in which the Deputy District Prosecutor in Warsaw participated. The management of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, assessing positively commitment and substantive work of prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek during the delegation, he wanted to a request to extend her further delegation, “he wrote.

“Due to the fact that the principle when delegating the prosecutor for over 6 months is the consent of the delegated, during the conversation a delegate was asked if he would agree to further delegation. Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek stated that she would not take a position on the object whether she agreed to further delegation or not. The district in Warsaw will not apply for an extension of its delegation pursuant to art.

Skiba explained that the said provision says that “in justified cases, due to the personnel needs of universal organizational units of the prosecutor's office, the national prosecutor may delegate the prosecutor without his consent for a period of 12 months per year to the prosecutor's office in the place where he lives in delegated, or to the prosecutor's office in the town where the prosecutor's office is a place of employment”

He said that until Wednesday Wrzosek did not agree. He clarified that her delegation passed on June 24, 2025.

Wrzosek: It is not true that I did not agree

Also on Wednesday, Prosecutor Wrzosek published her position at the X. She wrote that she presented to national prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk “a position as to the intention to continue all my current investigations, regardless of which in which unit of the prosecutor's office I will continue to perform my official duties.”

“It is not true that I have not agreed to further extend the duration of this delegation, although I think that the institution of prosecutor's delegations (as before), although provided for in the Act – is a kind of discretionary pathology and should not be used as an element of shaping staff in the prosecutor's office,” she assessed.

Investigation into the so -called two towers

Investigation into the so -called Two towers and bringing the Austrian businessman Gerald Birgfelller to an unfavorable disposal of property in the amount of not less than EUR 1.3 million by misleading him was conducted by Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek from the beginning of February at the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. It is about the construction of two skyscrapers on the Srebrna plot in Warsaw.

This is one of 200 cases that were included in the report of the National Prosecutor's Office of January this year from the audit of proceedings from the period of the United Right rule in 2016-2023. One of the threads of this report is the issue of conducting more than four years ago, referred to as the case of “two towers”. It ended with a refusal to initiate an investigation, which from February 2019 was conducted by the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office in connection with the notification of the suspicion of committing a crime by the President PIS JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski. At the end of January 2019, such a notification was submitted by one of Birgfelller's representatives.
