Volhynia. The exhumation of the victims is getting closer
In October 2024, we informed inside o declaration of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. He plans to exhume the dead in 2025 in the Rivne region Poles. As it was emphasized then, the work was to be carried out at the request of Polish citizens. The institution turned to government of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada for allocation for this purpose funds from the state budget.
“UINP remains open to cooperation with Polish institutions in the field of exploration, conservation and care memorial places of Ukrainians in Poland and Poles in Ukraine” – noted Anton Drobowycz, chairman of the organization.
– We are ready for talks that will lead to arrangements allowing the commencement of search and exhumation works – he emphasized in an interview with Interia Karol Nawrocki. He stressed, however, that “the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance is not the appropriate institution to make decisions in this regard.”
