Malcolm X was killed on Feb. 21, 1965, on the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem, as he was starting a speech.

Aziz, Islam, and a 3rd man, Mujahid Abdul Halim — also called Talmadge Hayer and Thomas Hagan — had been convicted of homicide in March 1966 and sentenced to life in jail.
