He added that there was no conclusive evidence as to who fired the rocket. He said that it was most likely a Russian-made rocket, but investigations are underway. As he said, Joe Biden assured that the United States keeps its alliances and “stand together with us to guard Polish security, as well as the entire North Atlantic Alliance.”

However, he assured of a serious approach to these reports and stressed that the US would defend every inch of NATO territory.
At a press conference, Andrzej Duda expressed his condolences to the relatives of two citizens who, as he said, “died as a result of an explosion, most likely a rocket, which fell on our territory six kilometers from the Polish-Ukrainian border.” – We work very quietly. Duda: At the moment, we do not have clear evidence who launched the rocket, activities are underway
Duda added that work is underway at the scene of the incident. – The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has declared that he will support us in the form of American experts who will help us in the investigation of the site of the tragic event. It will be a joint, allied action, he said.
He expressed hope that the matter would be clarified in detail. – We know that the Russian missile attack against Ukraine lasted practically all day, but we do not have any conclusive evidence at the moment as to who fired the missile. Investigations are underway, he said.
– Most likely, it was a Russian-made rocket, but all this is still under examination at the moment – added Andrzej Duda.
President: It is highly probable that the Polish ambassador to NATO will request the activation of Article 4 of the Treaty
The president said he had informed the NATO secretary general, the US president, the UK prime minister and the German chancellor that the Polish ambassador to NATO, Tomasz Szatkowski, would attend the meeting of the North Atlantic Council on Wednesday. He noted that this meeting had already been scheduled in advance and would start at 10 at NATO Headquarters.
– It is highly probable that the ambassador will request the initiation of Article 4, i.e. allied consultations – informed the president.
Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty provides that “the Parties shall consult each other whenever, in the opinion of either of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of either Party is threatened”.
President on the explosion in Przewodów: there are no indications that similar events will occur
The president announced that he had spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who expressed his belief that a rocket launched by the Russians had landed on Przewody. – But I repeat, we are waiting for the results of the investigators’ work. Our experts are now working on site. Prosecutors and military experts are present there. We have an unequivocal declaration of support from the American side, which was made to me by President Joe Biden – said Duda. He added that “President Biden has declared that he will also send US experts to support the work of our experts.”
President Duda also announced that consultations at the international level will continue. – All the leaders I spoke to assured me of allied support, of upholding all the provisions of the NATO treaties, including Article 5. We will consider this matter together. The protection and security of Poland has been strengthened, the president informed.
As he noted, “nothing indicates that further events of this type will take place at this time.” – So far it can be said that what happened was a single event. There is no indication that any more will take place, he added.
