EPC was established in 2022 as an intergovernmental platform that facilitates the coordination of political and economic initiatives of European countries. It was created in response to Russian full -size aggression to Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron, in a speech in the European Parliament, at that time came out with the initiative to create a “new European organization, giving democratic European nations space to cooperate in the fields of security and economic cooperation, including energy, investment or infrastructure.” The first EPC meeting was organized in October 2022 in Prague. The conversations then dominated issues regarding peace and safety and the energy crisis.
