Iga Świątek has already had the first training session at the courts in Rome before the WTA 1000 tournament. In the early afternoon on Sunday she trained with Victoria Azarenka.
Here are the next plans of Świątek in Rome
Świątek still has some time to properly prepare for playing in the Italian capital. The first matches of the tournament will take place on Tuesday, but the Polish woman will enter a few days later in connection with the spacing, which gives the opportunity to start from the second round. The organizers decided on the next Polish training session. It was scheduled for Monday at 12:00. The vice -leader of the WTA ranking will enter the central court (Campo Centrale) together with the Tunisian ONS Jabeur. The training is to take an hour.
For Christmas, the tournament in Rome is quite important. Defends the title from a year ago and thus 1000 ranking points. Theoretically, courts in the capital of Italy are more favorable for Polish than those in Madrid, are slower. In this respect, they are closer to Roland Garros' courts in Paris.
Any weaker attitude of a Polish woman in Rome can affect plans for the rest of the season. According to reports of “Onet Przegląd Onet” failures in Italy and RG may result in a longer break from tennis, i.e. complete resignation from the game on grass courts. Originally, the Staff of Świątek assumed performances in Bad Homburg and Grand Slam Wimbledon.
