– It is difficult to imagine that the Prosecutor General and the Minister of Justice did not have the power to decide on matters relating to the prosecutor’s office, while his deputy had all possible powers – said Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski in “Fakty po Faktach”. In this way, he referred to Adam Bodnar’s decision to retire national prosecutor Dariusz Barski.

Ministry of Justice announced that the reinstatement of Dariusz Barski to active service in 2022 was made without a legal basis. This means that from January 12 this year, being no longer in active service, he does not meet the requirements to be a national prosecutor and has not been performing this function since Friday.

“I’m surprised at this concreting”

When asked about this decision, Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski replied. – It’s like the president of the United States of America he transferred his powers to the vice-president, and he himself had nothing to say – said the guest of “Fakty po Faktach”, Professor Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski, former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General. – This is unconstitutional – he added.

– I am surprised at this concreting of individual institutions by… Law and Justicewho cannot leave normally and hand over power on civilized principles – added Ćwiąkalski.

The guest of “Fakty po Faktach” recalled how in 2015 former Prime Minister Beata Szydło called for the PO-PSL coalition to hand over power without any problems. – What we are dealing with here is a constant show, denial and an attempt to cling to power – said the former head of the Ministry of Justice.
