Grzegorz Braun, chief of the far-right Confederation of the Crown of Poland celebration, was seen taking the extinguisher off a wall earlier than strolling throughout the foyer to the place the candles have been.

Poland’s Chief Rabbi Michael Schudrich mentioned he was “embarrassed” by Mr Braun’s actions and that they weren’t consultant of the nation.

“For 1000’s of years our enemies have been making an attempt to extinguish us, from the time of the Maccabees proper by to Hamas. However our enemies ought to be taught, they can’t extinguish us,” he mentioned.

The candles have been relit a couple of minutes later, Rabbi Schudrich mentioned.

Cardinal Grzegorz Rys, of Poland’s Catholic Church, apologised to the “total Jewish group in Poland,” including that he was ashamed of the politician’s actions.
