Father Tadeusz Rydzyk. The Ministry of Justice suspends the payment of money to the Lux Veritatis Foundation from the Justice Fund


On Monday, the Ministry of Justice announced the suspension of payments from the Justice Fund. Among the entities whose payments have been suspended is the Lux Veritatis Foundation, whose president is Father Tadeusz Rydzyk – we read in a statement from the ministry. By the end of 2026, the Foundation was to receive a total of nearly PLN 7.2 million.

Ministry of Justice reported that on December 27, payments from the Justice Fund were suspended. “From this date, each payment is subject to substantive analysis before execution and will not be made without individual consent,” the ministry assured.

The Ministry also informed that it was conducting a detailed audit of the Fund. “The reason for the audit is to determine whether the awarding of specific grants is consistent with the Fund’s tasks and the principles arising from the Public Finance Act, such as transparency, economy and purposefulness,” it was explained.

The Ministry of Justice emphasized that the Justice Fund is a dedicated fund and should finance only precisely indicated state tasks.

The information provided shows that the first stage of the inspection verifies payments scheduled for January 2024. “The Ministry will make every effort to ensure that payments, about which there are no doubts, are made as soon as possible,” declared the Ministry of Justice.

Payment control applies to contracts for assistance to victims, post-penitentiary assistance and counteracting the causes of crime, awarded both in a competitive and non-competitive manner. “A total of 112 entities are affected, which are to receive payments in the total amount of PLN 79,770,098.59 in January alone. In addition to subsidies, payments for promotional activities have also been suspended,” we read in the announcement.

Money withheld for Tadeusz Rydzyk’s father

It was noted that the suspension of payments does not mean the termination of contracts. “However, the contracts will be carefully analyzed,” the ministry added. Payments have been suspended, among others. for the Lux Veritatis Foundation, of which my father is the president Tadeusz Rydzyk. The Foundation owns the Academy of Social and Media Culture in Toruń.

The entities whose payments have been suspended include:

  • The Lux Veritatis Foundation was to receive PLN 2,308,800 this year. A total of PLN 7,178,028 was to be paid to the Foundation by the end of 2026,
  • The Fidei Defensor Association was to receive PLN 1,477,333 this year. A total of PLN 2,954,666 was to be paid to the Association by the end of 2025.
  • The Institute of Sovereignty and Heritage in Europe Foundation was to receive PLN 544,200 this year. A total of PLN 1,088,400 was to be paid to the Foundation by 2025.
  • The Profeto.pl Foundation of the Sacred Heart Secretariat for the New Evangelization was to receive PLN 29,777,090 this year. A total of PLN 37,306,091 was to be paid to the Foundation by the end of 2026.
  • St. Foundation Benedykta was to receive PLN 1,261,334 this year. A total of PLN 3,757,334 was to be paid to the Foundation by the end of 2026.

Moreover, according to the statement, the Ministry of Justice is also working on establishing a special team of experts for the Justice Fund, which will establish the future rules of its operation.
