A father was stopped by police as he tried to drown two young children at a seaside within the US, authorities have stated.

An officer had been on patrol within the metropolis of West Haven, Connecticut, when he noticed a Nissan SUV parked on the seaside at round 2.30am native time (7.30am UK time) on Saturday, police stated.

The officer then approached the car and heard “important screaming happening from the water”, the pressure added.
