For eight years, PiS pursued a disastrous policy. The financial situation is as bad as rational people who study these finances say, which is several times worse than what Mr. Morawiecki says, said Izabela Leszczyna, former deputy finance minister, member of the Civic Coalition, on TVN24.
Long-time employees of the Ministry of Finance – Sławomir Dudek, Ludwik Kotecki, Hanna Majszczyk – in their report calculated that the actual state budget deficit at the end of 2023 will amount to over PLN 206 billion.
Izabela Leszczyna, former deputy finance minister, and currently vice-president of the Civic Platform and an MP from the Civic Coalition, spoke about this report in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24.
– The financial situation is as bad as rational people who study and analyze these finances say. They showed it in their report. She is exactly like that, which is several times worse than what Mr. Morawiecki tells us every day, she said.
In her opinion, “the situation is bad because for eight years PIS he pursued a disastrous policy”. – It has led to a collapse in investments and this means that instead of having more and more money, we have less and less. PiS completely failed to ensure that there were development investments, that there was an energy transformation, that our companies were competitive. And this drives the economy, money to the budget. On the other hand, PiS spent this money in a completely irrational way, assessed Leszczyna.
In this context, she was asked about the programs announced by her party that would burden the budget – for example, “grandmother’s” or raises for budget employees.
– We have to be very credible in what we say. We have to be very clear and stress that the policy has long-term and short-term goals. Our short-term goal is primarily to unlock EU funds. The hundreds of billions of zlotys that will come to Poland will be such a substitute for the huge stream of money that must come from the budget today, said the MP.
