Up to two thousand square meters were engulfed in flames at a landfill in Koniecpol, in the Silesian province. Among other things, a hall with waste used for the production of alternative fuels burned until late at night.
The fire that broke out on Wednesday evening on the premises of a company in Koniecpol (Silesia) covered an area of two thousand square meters, including a hall with waste used to produce alternative fuels. As reported by the fire department before midnight, it is no longer spreading.
The spokeswoman for the provincial headquarters of the State Fire Service in Katowice, Brigadier Aneta Gołębiowska, informed that the services received a report of a fire in a hall on Szkolna Street in Koniecpol at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. There is no information about any injured people.
Fire in wooden and plastic elements
Before midnight, the State Fire Service reported on social media that a hall was on fire, where wooden elements and plastics were probably stored.
“29 fire brigade vehicles were sent to the scene, mainly from the Częstochowa district. The Operational Group of the Silesian Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service is also present on site,” it was reported.
