Democratic voters have been in apathy in recent months. The very fact that the candidate changed suddenly released enormous energy, a large injection of mobilization appeared on the Democratic side – said Andrzej Kohut, an Americanist and author of the book “America. A House Divided” in “Tak jest” on TVN24. Professor Artur Nowak-Far, former deputy minister of foreign affairs, added that replacing Joe Biden with Kamala Harris gave a new quality and new impetus.

There was stagnation, now there is great energy
Andrzej Kohut, an Americanist and author of the book “America. A House Divided”, and Professor Artur Nowak-Far from the Warsaw School of Economics and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed the electoral rivalry in the US in the “Tak jest” programme on TVN24.
Kohut said that “Democratic voters have been in a state of stagnation in recent months”. – It was clear that they obviously did not want to vote for Donald Trumpbut on the other hand, they don't believe that the candidate they have, Joe Biden, can win this election. The very fact that the candidate changed suddenly released a huge amount of energy, a big injection of mobilization on the Democratic side – he added.

– We saw this, for example, in the form of a blank check issued by voters, donors to Kamala Harris, who paid huge amounts of money into her campaign without really knowing how she would present herself as a candidate – he pointed out. He added that “this is actually a key change in this election race, because it means that the Democratic candidate, in this case Kamala Harris, has a chance to fight Donald Trump”.
“The honeymoon is not over yet”
Artur Nowak-Far was asked if he agreed with some commentators that Kamala Harris' “honeymoon” related to her entry into the presidential race is over. – The honeymoon is not over yet. It is not even a well-posed question whether there is a honeymoon or not. It should rather be said that replacing Biden with Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president has given a new quality and new impetus to the election campaign in the United States – he said.
