1. The flood wave on the Odra reaches Lubuskie
The peak of the wave on the night from Sunday to Monday is expected to reach the Lubuskie province. Among others, the Siedlisko commune is in its path. – It will last almost two days and that is where our concerns come from, because the embankments are already leaking a lot – said local mayor Daniel Kołtun in an interview with a TVN24 reporter.

As data from IMWM show, the highest water level in Nowa Sól is to be around 670 cm, with an alarm level of 450 cm. This is only 11 cm less than during the flood in 1997.
The peak of the flood wave reached Głogów (Lower Silesian Voivodeship) in the early afternoon on Sunday and the water level remains at a level of approx. 240 cm above the alarm level.
2. SPD beats AfD in Brandenburg. Greens out of Landtag

In Brandenburg, which borders Poland, the SPD won the Landtag elections, winning 30.9 percent of the votes. The right-wing AfD came in second, winning 29.2 percent of the vote. The Greens, who did not pass the electoral threshold, did not make it to the regional parliament. And that means the end of the SPD-CDU-Green coalition.

3. President Andrzej Duda visits the USA

On Sunday, the presidential couple visited the National Shrine of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, known as the “American Częstochowa.” “This is a wonderful day for our wonderful Polish-American community,” the former president said. Donald Trumpwho called the Polish president a “great friend.” Duda's visit to the U.S. will last until Wednesday.

“We have arrived in the United States. The main goal (of the visit) is to strengthen Ukraine and protect all our people,” Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media on Sunday evening. He added that “this war can only end with a just peace, (achieved) through global efforts.”
“Anyone who values life can help, and the most effective help is determination. The plan for Ukraine's victory will be on the tables of all our allies,” Zelensky wrote.
