1. Iga Świątek received an Olympic medal
On Saturday at the Roland Garros complex Iga Świątek took the bronze medal. The four-time French Open champion was the favorite to win gold. However, she lost her semifinal match to China's Zheng Qinwen 2:6, 5:7.
2. Katarzyna Wasick's promotion
Katarzyna Wasick won semi-final in the 50m freestyle swimming, and advanced to Sunday's final with the third time (24.23). This is a chance for Poland to win a medal in the Olympic swimming pool.
The fastest in the qualifying round was the world record holder Sarah Sjoestroem. The Swede was the only one to overtake the Pole and the only one to achieve a result below 24 seconds (23.85).
3. Terrorist attack on the beach
On the beach in Mogadishu, the capital of Somaliaa suicide terrorist attack took place on Friday. According to local media, the Islamist terrorist organization Al-Shabaab, allied with Al-Qaeda, was responsible for the attack.

Brigadier General Artur Jakubczyk has been dismissed from the International Military Staff at NATO Headquarters – the Ministry of National Defense informed.
“I would like to inform you that, following a request from allies, the procedure for the dismissal of Brig. Gen. A. Jakubczyk from the International Military Staff at NATO Headquarters is underway,” said Janusz Sejmej, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, in a Saturday post on platform X.

5. Aerosmith will not return to the stage
Aerosmith cancels farewell tour and announced that she was officially ending her stage activity.
During one of the concerts organized in September last year, 76-year-old Steven Tyler suffered serious damage to his vocal cords.
On Friday evening, the band posted a statement on social media saying they were canceling the tour because Steven's vocals would never fully recover. The band said it was a “painful and difficult, but necessary decision.”
